The geometric characteristics of the Plicate watch byBenjamin Hubert is inspired by the folded pleats of a paper fan. This distinctive timepiece features a pleated surface along the inside of the strap as well as around the face where the three dimensional pleats replace typical 2D graphics usually found on watch faces.

Hubert has designed the Plicate with details in mind. The pleats on the underside of the strap allow the flow of air between the watch strap and the wearers wrist to prevent the build up of dirt, while the strap fastening uses a popper clasp, more commonly found on festival wrist bands, to allow for a secure closure.

The watch strap is made of polyurethane and is available in blue, grey, rust, and green. The face of each watch features a double length second hand ticker in a contrasting colour.
